The positive disposition of NACOF Chairman Ram Iqbal Singh and that of its Board members won widespread praise from delegates on the occasion of the 8th AGM of agri co-operative held in New Delhi on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, a delegate from Nagpur said most of the co-operatives are being managed by arrogant Directors and equally arrogant Chairmen but here at NACOF we have a very supportive Chairman in Ram Iqbal Singh. Majority of those who spoke said NACOF’s unprecedented growth in a short span of time is due to polite and helping nature of the Chairman and its Directors.
Even special invitees did not hesitate in singing NACOF’s praises. After applauding Singh, N. Satyanaryana, CE of NCUI explained how a co-op organization succeeded and traced Amul’s success to the role of Tribhuvandas Patel. He also talked about the two books published by NCUI recently.
NCCT Secretary Mohan Mishra also spoke on the occasion and said the objective of cooperative is not to earn profit but to cater to the needs of their members. “There should be provision of posting of a cooperative leader in every Ministry so that the ministry’s affairs are managed according to the cooperative norms and values, Mishra said adding a new dimension to the discussion.
One of the Directors connected to Horticlutre said “PM Narendra Modi’s aim to double the income of farmers till 2020 is possible if we provide good quality seeds and fertilizer to farmers and buy their products at reasonable prices.
One of the delegates from Nagpur Roopa Bhora said “In 1994 I had formed a women cooperative in Maharashtra with an objective to make women economically empowered. Presently, it is wholly owned and operated by women and we offer Mid Day meals in schools successfully.”
