Nabard has earmarked Rs 5,000 crore for turning Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), building blocks of the country’s cooperative banking structure, into multi service centres, reports Financial Express.
Nabard’s initiative will go a long way in strengthening the cooperative movement, sources say.
Meanwhile, PACS functionaries said, conversion of PACS into multi-service centers will enable cooperative bodies to offer multiple services to the people.
