Muslim Cooperative Bank, Mysuru, has filed a petition arguing the Lokayukta had no jurisdiction over the-bank, reports Hindu.
The High Court of Karnataka has ordered the issue of notices to the State Government and the Lokayukta institution.
The petition says since the bank is an autonomous institution under the Karnataka Cooperative Societies, the Lokayukta could not have acted upon a complaint against the bank under the provisions of the Karnataka Lokayukta Act, 1984.
The petition therefore has sought a ruling from the court quashing the report submitted by the Upaloukta and Lokayukta.
