Pune based Muslim Co-operative Bank chairman PA Inamdar is once again in trouble after two of the bank’s directors, Imtiaz Shikilkar and SM Iqbal, along with their supporters demanded his resignation. Inamdar is accused of allegedly siphoning off Rs 2 crore staff bonus given in terms of ad-hoc allowance and incentives, reports HT.
Inamdar has denied all allegations saying the two bank directors want from him a range of favors including showing lenience to defaulters close to them.
Inamdar’s opponents charge he is not only riding roughshod over the basic norms of democracy but also causing hindrances in the CBI investigation going on against him.
Meanwhile, a prominent Muslim journalist has urged Inamdar to step down from office without delay.
