Co-operative touched a new low when in the meeting of a co-op society in Andhra Pradesh, the anger boiled to a such a point that the Chairman was murdered right in the meeting itself.
The incident took place in the Kistipadu Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society in Peddavaduguru mandal in Anantpur district in Andhra Pradesh. A violent clash between two groups led to the murder of society president Chittem Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, reports a news outlet.
TDP members of the society were trying to remove Bhaskar Reddy, who belonged to YSRC, from the president’s post through a no-confidence motion. However, Bhaskar Reddy had got a stay order from the court.
Against this backdrop, members of both parties clashed with sticks and lethal weapons. In the clash, Bhaskar Reddy died on the spot and three others received grievous injuries.
Police rushed to the village to keep the peace. Tension prevailed at Kistipadu and Bhaskar Reddy’s native village Appicherla, where police posted a picket to monitor the situation. Police is investigating the incident.
