The list of bills proposed in the monsoon session also includes the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill but one does not know for sure if it will be taken up or not.
The session started with a walkout by the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha on Monday.
It bears recalling that the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill will strengthen the government’s role in cooperatives and increase participation in the working of multi-state cooperative societies, to raise the general public’s faith in them and create a favourable environment for their growth and development.
Meanwhile, the government is also seeking co-operators’ feedback on the bill. The cooperative sector gathered under the aegis of the NCUI to offer its inputs on the bill. Cooperative leaders are waiting for time from Union Minister Amit Shah to express their views on the matter.
