Maharashtra chief minister Fadnavis said the state govt will allow Mumbai Police to file a case against NCP leader Ajit Pawar and 70 others in the alleged Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) scam as directed by Bombay High Court, reports Hindu.
The court issued the order in response to a criminal public interest litigation filed by Surinder Arora from Bombay.
The scam had caused a loss of Rs 1000 to the bank.
Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar the kingpin of the scam said he has yet to receive any official document.
The court has directed that the case be registered within a specific time limit.
Sources say the scam had long been in the news but no action had been taken.
