Despite govt claim that there is no shortage of Urea, the ground situation is just the opposite in Madhya Pradesh. Media reports say in several districts of the state, farmers are facing problems due to the shortage of fertilizers.
The news from Kalmukhi village in Khandwa district of MP is that chemical fertilizers such as DAP, Potash, Super Phosphate etc. are readily available in cooperative societies but farmers face problems getting urea.
The farmers of Kalmukhi said a large number of farmers gather to take urea in the cooperative societies but due to lack of urea only a few sacks are distributed among them. According to them, private vendors also do not have urea. The same situation is in other districts of MP as well.
Incidentally, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar constituency falls in MP.
