Mohol attends key Cooperative events in Pune

Union Minister of State for Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol attended two significant cooperative gatherings in Pune on Friday. The first event was organized by the Pune District Urban Cooperative Banks Association, and the second by the Maharashtra Urban Cooperative Banks Federation (MUCBF).

On this occasion, Pune became the ‘Cooperative Banks’ capital as representatives from both large and small cooperative banks came together for these two important events.

The Pune UCB Association hosted an award ceremony at the Rajiv Gandhi Academy of E-Learning and Science Junior College, attended by BJP leader Pravin Darekar, MSC Bank Administrative Board Chairman Vidyadhar Anaskar, Pune UCB Association Chairman Subhash Mohite, and others.

Later in the day, the Maharashtra UCB Federation held its 45th Annual General Meeting at the Cosmos Bank headquarters, where Mohol felicitated various cooperative banks for their outstanding performances in different categories.

During both events, Mohol emphasized that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the visionary leadership of Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, efforts to strengthen the cooperative movement are bearing fruit.

“The cooperative movement has long played a crucial role in Maharashtra’s economy. The banking sector, in particular, has been a key contributor to strengthening both rural and urban economies. The extensive network of cooperative banks in the state highlights the deep-rooted nature of the cooperative movement in Maharashtra,” he added.

Mohol stressed that cooperative banks have created numerous opportunities for employment generation and provided essential credit services, especially to the underserved. Strengthening this sector remains a priority as the movement looks to the future.
