Modi-Shah brought co-op Center Stage: Chandra Pal

While addressing an event organized on the occasion of the 71st All India Cooperative Week at the NCUI headquarters, ICA-AP Chairman Chandra Pal Singh Yadav highlighted that cooperatives have not only contributed to reducing unemployment in the country but also hold significant potential for curbing inflation.

“Cooperatives in India have a vast network and are the only sector competing with multinational companies. They are not only supporting farmers by providing high-quality urea but also assisting in procuring crops at MSP with government support,” he added.

Yadav urged participants to raise awareness about the cooperative movement during Cooperative Week, emphasizing the need to involve more people in the cooperative sector and expand membership beyond the current 30 crore, as this is the need of the hour.

He also praised the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah for revitalizing the cooperative movement in the country.

“There is immense potential within the cooperative sector to drive economic growth and empower communities. There is a need to expand into fields where the cooperative sector currently has no presence,” he emphasized.
