In a novel experiment, the Gujarat govt experimented with the youths taking over the assembly and running the affairs of the House for a day. The aim was to apprise the youth of our democratic norms.
NCUI President Dileep Sanghani who witnessed the proceedings of the House under youth from Visitors’ Gallery along with Gujarat Chief Minister, Speaker and other leaders were excited at the experiment.
Talking to Indian Cooperative Sanghani said it was a pleasure to see a young CM and ministers answering questions from the members.
Sanghani said that in order to train and educate the youth in parliamentary democracy, the state govt issued an advertisement to which more than 2 lakh young men and women responded. About 193, equal to the actual number of MLAs were selected and trained for the purpose.
Stating further Sanghani said that the entire exercise was being carried out in a serious manner and he regretted he had to leave the house due to the elections of Gujarat State Cooperative Bank.
