The Union Cooperation Ministry recently honoured veteran cooperator Satish Marathe in a social media post, acknowledging his significant contributions to the cooperative movement in India.
The tweet highlighted Marathe’s role as a cooperative representative to the Reserve Bank of India and recognized his dedication to strengthening cooperative institutions nationwide.
Marathe is a founding member of Sahakar Bharati, an organization that has expanded across India and now includes over 40,000 cooperatives, making it the largest non-governmental organization in the cooperative sector. In recognition of his contributions, Marathe was awarded the prestigious Sahakarita Ratna Award by IFFCO.
This acknowledgment from the ministry underscores the impact of Marathe’s lifelong commitment to the cooperative movement and the growing influence of Sahakar Bharati in the sector.
