Manipur Cooperation and Social Welfare Minister Mrs Nemcha Kipgen has asked all to implement schemes under Co-operation department so that people living in hill areas and far flung areas of the state may be transformed, reports PTI.
Development can be brought about in the interior areas by effectively implementing co-operation projects she added while inspecting a multipurpose work shed cum training hall and hostel for handloom and handicraft centre at Kholep, Kangpokpi district.
The work is taken up through Integrated Cooperative Development Project (ICDP) which is under National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC).
Nemcha said she wants to make Kholep a model village for promotion of handloom and once this multipurpose work shed is completed, many people specially widows, orphans and destitute would be hugely benefitted from it.
It will generate employment as well as income and market for the local weavers and artisans.
