Jayen Mehta, previously serving as In-charge Managing Director (MD), has been officially confirmed in the role of Managing Director of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) for a five-year term.
A long-time member of GCMMF with extensive experience, including his tenure as Chief General Manager (CGM), Mehta’s appointment is viewed positively by dairy experts as a step towards strengthening the cooperative’s future.
In January 2023, Mehta took over as interim MD following the departure of R.S. Sodhi. His confirmation in the role is expected to drive Amul’s diversification efforts and enhance its international presence, particularly in the United States and European markets.
Mehta’s association with Amul began in 1991, during which he has held numerous key positions, such as Brand Manager, Group Product Manager, General Manager, and Chief General Manager. He also serves on the Standing Committee of Marketing at the International Dairy Federation (IDF).
Under Mehta’s leadership, Amul’s diversification strategies and global expansion efforts have gained significant momentum, with sources within GCMMF highlighting notable progress since his appointment as interim MD.
