The Chairman of the National Cooperative Organics Limited, Meenesh Shah, met Union Ministry of Cooperation Secretary Ashish Bhutani at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi on Wednesday and briefed him on the progress of the NCOL.
During the meeting, Dr. Bhutani emphasized the importance of prioritizing the onboarding of existing organic farmers, establishing strong market linkages, and promoting distinctive regional products to showcase the unique agricultural offerings from different parts of the country.
The discussion took place in the presence of the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperation, Pankaj Kumar Bansal.
As per the data, so far 2,614 applications for members have been received from 24 states/UTs, and NCOL has launched six products, including Tur Dal, Chana Dal, Sugar, Moong, Jowar Atta, and Besan, under the Bharat Organics Brand.
The recently established multi-state cooperative NCOL aims to boost the production, sale, consumption, and global export of certified organic products, thereby maximizing profits for Indian farmers.”
