The Orissa State Cooperative Bank (OSCB) Management has refused to carry out Chief Minister Navin Pattnaik’s instruction about the appointment of Managing Director of the bank, reports Pioneer.
Pattnaik had slashed the order of the Cooperation Department offering one year extension to the serving MD of OSCB TK Panda to six months and had asked for identification of his replacement by April 2018.
Sources say in the notification and advertisement entry level age has been relaxed beyond 62 years for candidates already in service in scheduled Cooperative Banks violating the mandatory provisions of the RBI guidelines. With this, TK Panda meets such new criteria as he has continued beyond 62 years in the OSCB.
Government officials have manipulated things to give extension to TK Panda as an inquiry into irregularities involving 100 crore in the bank is underway, charges Loksamukhya convenor Ashok Nanda.
