On November 29, 2024, Satish Marathe, one of the founder members of Sahakar Bharati, the largest NGO in the cooperative sector, attended the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the International Co-Operative Alliance (ICA) as an Observer. The event took place at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
For the first time, Marathe, who also serves on the board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), met Ariel Guarco, President of the ICA, and Jeroen Douglas, its Director General.
“Both appreciated my presence at the AGM, and during our interaction, we decided to stay in touch and collaborate to strengthen the cooperative movement,” Marathe wrote on social media.
Earlier, during the plenary session, IFFCO MD Dr. U. S. Awasthi praised the role of Sahakar Bharati in his keynote address. Marathe expressed his gratitude to Awasthi for highlighting Sahakar Bharati on a global platform.
