In a major step to boost the dairy industry in Manipur, the state government has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to transfer the operations of the Manipur Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Ltd. to the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).
The MoU was signed on January 31 at the CM’s Secretariat in Imphal. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh expressed his enthusiasm, emphasizing that the agreement would lead to enhanced dairy production in the state.
The MoU outlines plans for a systematic reorganization of dairy co-operative societies, focusing on professional management and structural reforms within the Manipur Milk Union. The aim is to strengthen the dairy industry and improve milk production across the state.
Representing the Government of Manipur was Secretary (Veterinary & A.H) Michael Achom, while the NDDB and the Union were represented by Chairman Meenesh Shah and Board Member Pukhrambam Sobhachandra Singh, respectively.
