A cooperative delegation from the National Apex Cooperative body of Malaysia- Angkasa visited several Indian co-operative bodies including IFFCO, Amul and ICA A-P headquarters.
The delegation was led by Angkasa, Deputy President, Dato Kamarudin Ismail. The objective of their visit was to learn about India’s cooperatives and develop collaboration with them.
IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi and other officials welcomed them and had wide-ranging discussions about IFFCO”s technology, various products and expertise in agri inputs etc.
Sharing the news through twitter, IFFCO MD wrote, “Today, a #cooperative delegation from #Malaysia @ANGKASACoop , the APEX cooperative of Malaysia visited #IFFCO. Discussed about exchange of ideas, technology, information on products & expertise in Agri inputs by #IFFCO”.
The delegation also visited Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Gujarat. ICA-AP Regional Director Balu Aiyer also shared information about the delegation on the social media.

Besides, the delegation visited the ICA-AP office in New Delhi. The delegation visited Amul Dairy to know more about the booming dairy cooperative sector.
As the apex organisation for cooperatives in Malaysia, Angkasa plays an important role in guiding the cooperative movement in Malaysia. Their objective is to unify Malaysian cooperatives and champion the aspirations and rights of the movement and to represent the cooperative movement at the national and international level, among other things.
Readers would recall that in 2017, Angkasa hosted the Global Conference and General Assembly of the International Co-operative Alliance which was attended by more than 1,800 delegates from around the world.
