Maharashtra State Co-operative Federation completed 100 years of its existence and invited the Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on the occasion in Mumbai last week. Besides the chief minister, several cooperators were present at the function in Mumbai to commemorate the centenary celebrations.
“Having completed 100 years, the Maharashtra State Cooperative Federation should now reflect on streamlining and evolving plans for the next 50 years on how the cooperative sector can serve the people in villages across Maharashtra,” said Fadnavis.
The chief minister said the cooperative sector needed to be strengthened as it had an important role in rural development.
The chief minister promised to amend the relevant Act to ensure funds are regularly allocated for various activities in the cooperative sector.
