Maharashtra Cooperative Minister Balasaheb Patil has appealed to the cooperatives of the state not to deduct the salary of its employees and officers in the current situation.
Patil said, “The lockdown has affected industries, businesses as well as banks and credit unions. But I appealed to all the co-operative banks and credit cooperatives in the state not to deduct the salaries of their officers and employees and pay them the minimum wage”, he added.
On an average, there are over 500 Urban Cooperative Banks in Maharashtra that have a total network of around 5700 branches in the state.
