Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Dairy Federation, renowned for its ‘Sanchi’ brand, seeks collaboration with Amul, India’s largest cooperative, aiming to expand operations and augment procurement from farmers, a senior official disclosed to FE.
Presently, ‘Sanchi’ procures merely 20-25% of the state’s milk production. Teaming up with GCMMF is anticipated to extend operations across Madhya Pradesh.
Amidst reports of acquisition, officials emphasize learning from Amul’s expertise. ‘Sanchi’ witnesses a 7-8% annual growth in milk procurement, engaging approximately 0.25 million farmers from 10,000 villages.
