The senior director of Mumbai based Bassein Catholic Cooperative Bank Manvel Francis Lopes has been elected unopposed as the Vice-Chairman of the bank on Monday. He has replaced Yuri Gonsalves.
The bank’s former Chairman and present director Onil Almeida shared this information with Indian Cooperative correspondent.
Lopes will render his services as the Vice-Chairman till the new election of the bank in 2020. He has been a director on the board since 16 years.
Earlier, Ryan Fernandes had replaced Onil Almeida as the Chairman of the bank.
Readers would recall that recently the bank received the “Sahakar Bhushan Award” from the govt. of Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Cooperative Minister Subhash Deshmukh had given away the award to the bank.
The 100 years old Bassein Catholic Cooperative Bank has achieved a business mix of Rs 11,176 crore as on 31st March 2019.
