Union Minister for Home and Cooperation, Amit Shah, has hailed the steps announced by RBI to increase credit flow through Cooperative Banks and has thanked the Prime Minister for the same.
Shah said it is a measure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to the cooperative sector.
Earlier, NAFCUB President Jyotindra Mehta, who had been in touch with the union cooperation minister both in person and on phone, thanked Amit Shah for the decision. Mehta felt Shah’s appointment as cooperation minister has energized several arms of the government to act in favour of the co-op movement.
It is said the new ministry of cooperation led by Amit Shah has taken a number of historic decisions to fulfil long standing demands of the cooperative sector. In Amit Shah’s view, the strengthened cooperative sector will help in solving problems facing agrarian India.
