Cooperators across the country were stunned by the demise of Samajwadi Party (SP) founder and former Defence Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, especially those cooperative leaders who are connected to the Samajwadi Party.
As soon as the news of Yadav’s demise broke, Kribhco Chairman and former Rajya Sabha Member Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav wrote on his Facebook wall, “Shocked by the demise of the founder of Samajwadi Party, former Defence Minister and my guardian Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji”.
“He was the pillar of Indian politics who became the voice of the poor, backward and all those people who were deprived of their basic rights. The departure of respected “Neta ji” is an irreparable loss to the country and Indian politics. May his soul rest in peace”, Yadav’s message reads. He also shared the photographs showing him with Mulayam Singh Yadav. Later, he rushed to the socialist leader’s native place Saifai, Etawah.
In his condolence message, IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi wrote, “My heart is saddened by the news of the demise of Samajwadi Party’s founder, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav. He was a mass leader, well-wisher of farmers and cooperatives. May god give strength to his family to bear this irreparable loss. Om Shanti!
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah wrote, “Due to the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, a huge vacuum has emerged in Uttar Pradesh’s and national politics.
Shah paid tributes to Netaji at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram and expressed condolences to his son Akhilesh Yadav ji and his family members.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji was a remarkable personality. He was widely admired as a humble and grounded leader who was sensitive to people’s problems. He served people diligently and devoted his life towards popularising the ideals of Loknayak JP and Dr. Lohia”.
Mulayam Singh Yadav was the cooperative minister in Uttar Pradesh, when the Janata Party government was formed in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Ram Naresh Yadav in 1977.
