The Amul Project has begun in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. The state chief minister Jagan Reddy launched it and announced Rs 4,000 crore plans to reorganize the dairy scene in the state, media reports say.
The chief said the project will empower women of self-help groups and help them start milk cooperatives in the govt. sector. Nearly 10 thousand villages will be covered by the Amul project.
GCMMF (Amul) MD RS Sodhi and Sabarkanta Co-operative Society MD BM Patel virtually attended the function.
