KRIBHCO-TANFED meets to solve issue of underweight urea bags

The unsolved issue of sale of underweight urea bags to farmers in Tamil Nadu continues to worry farmers. Agriculture officials have so far detected hundreds of tonnes of underweight bags, reports Hindu.

Meanwhile , the quality control wing of agriculture dept has issued ”stop sales” orders for fertilizer bags stocked with private dealers, primary agricultural cooperative credit societies and Tamil Nadu cooperative marketing federation.

It is reported that officials of KRIBHCO that imports urea from abroad and TANFED are meeting to discuss ways and means of solving this problem.

KRIBHCO has promised to solve this problem through standardization which experts say can be a good solution.
