Rajan Chowdhary was relieved from his position as Managing Director of the second-largest fertilizer cooperative- Kribhco, on Friday. According to an official communication, Chowdhary was relieved upon the completion of his tenure.
M.R. Sharma, Director (Tech.) at Kribhco, will assume additional responsibility as the Managing Director from Monday until further orders. He will perform all the duties, roles, and responsibilities of the MD with full delegated powers, reads the official communication.
Mild mannered and a true professional, Chowdhary has been credited with several initiatives in the development of Kribhco, particularly in training women under the ‘Namo Drone Didis’ initiative, a dream project of the Prime Minister.
Sharma, a B.E. (Chemical) graduate from IIT Roorkee, has held various positions within Kribhco. He has served as the Executive Director of the Kribhco Hazira Plant and as the Production Head in the role of Chief General Manager (Production). Sharma brings over 38 years of experience in the operation of large fertilizer plants in India and Oman.
It remains unclear whether Sharma will continue as the full-fledged MD or if a new appointee will replace him.
