The election to the post of director of Koraput Central Cooperative Bank (KCCB) in Odisha is under scrutiny after Haldhar Kope, a candidate, who lost the election alleged that he was kidnapped and prevented from casting his ballot by BJD workers on the polling day, reports New Indian Express.
He complained that four motorcycle-borne people chased him and assaulted him. When he became unconscious they dumped him in a forest.
He also alleged he was offered Rs 50,000-Rs 70,000 to withdraw his candidature. The matter is under investigation.
