The Kerala Cabinet meeting on Wednesday approved the draft cooperative policy of the state government.
The draft policy has envisaged creating a conducive environment for ensuring an independent and autonomous functioning of all cooperatives institutions in the state, reports Express News Service.
The draft policy also suggests to acknowledge cooperatives as a means to implement the developmental programmes of the state and the Centre.
The proposals of the draft policy included bringing necessary changes in the recruitment process of the cooperatives after reviewing the current system, introducing professionalism in the Cooperative Department and empowering women through the cooperative system.
