Kerala minister for cooperation Kadakampally Surendran told in the state Assembly the proposed amendment to the Kerala Cooperative Societies Act will strengthen primary agricultural credit societies in the cooperative sector, reports Hindu.
The minister told the House that the State government would not close down any branches of district cooperative banks or terminate the services of bank employees,
According to the minister, the amended Kerala Cooperative Societies Act would stop graft and wrong practices in the cooperative sector.
The state government was working out plans to tighten the auditing and the examination of gold deposits in cooperative banks.
