Employees of the Kerala State Cooperative Bank have collectively donated Rs 5.25 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in response to the devastating landslide that recently struck Wayanad.
Kerala StCB President Gopi Kottamurikkal handed over the cheque to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the presence of the bank’s CEO Jorty M. Chacko, Kerala’s Cooperation Minister V. N. Vasavan, and other dignitaries.
The donation was made after the bank’s employees voluntarily decided to contribute five days’ salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, a decision that was strongly supported by the employee organizations.
It is noteworthy that just last month, Kerala State Cooperative Bank contributed ?50 lakh to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund, becoming the first institution to do so in the wake of the Wayanad tragedy.
