In a significant relief for the state government, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has announced his assent to five bills passed by the state assembly, which had been pending for a long time. Among these bills is the Kerala Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Bill.
The CPI(M)-led Kerala Government had previously filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the withholding of these bills.
Notably, the Co-operative Bill seeks voting rights for nominated members in the Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, potentially bolstering the LDF’s control.”
