Kerala State Cooperative Consumers’ Federation will hold Christmas and New Year fairs at 1675 venues across the state from December 21 to January 2. Primary cooperative societies, women cooperative societies, SC/ST and Fishermen societies will take part in these fairs, media reports claim.
The joint registrar of cooperative societies has already begun identifying societies that are willing to participate in the fairs.
Consumerfed administrative committee chairman M Mehaboob said “A sum of Rs 160 crore was spent to purchase required essential commodities to sell it at a subsided price to the consumers,” he said.
The consumer can buy all kinds of commodities including rice, sugar, oil, chili, coriander, green gram, whole Begal gram and pulses.
