Kerala’s revised budget for 2021-22 proposing cooperative initiative in developing a range of infrastructural facilities for agriculture is likely to bring about major changes in the farm sector, says Hindu.
The move has followed the disruption in normal business activities in the COVID-19 scenario.
Hailing the move C.P. John, former member of the Planning Board and Communist Marxist Party leader said it was a decision aimed to ensure processing and value addition so as to give the necessary support to the farmers.
Sources familiar with the dairy sector said the cooperative sector had many achievements in building infrastructure including 160 milk chillers under its belt.
