The CPI(M) State committee member Gopi Kottamurikkal heads the governing council of the newly created Kerala Bank after the Left Democratic Front has won a huge victory in the elections to the governing body, reports Hindu.
All the elected members assumed office in the presence of top dignitaries including Kerala chief minister Vijayan and cooperative minister Kodakampally Surendran at the bank’s headquarters in Thiruvananthpuram.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister called upon the Malappuram co-operative bank not to persist in refusing to join the new bank. The Kerala Bank became operational in,2019 with 13 district cooperative banks joining it.
