Pioneer reports Karnataka govt recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) at the Krishi Bhawan for promotion and management of Farmer Producer Organisations.
Under this Central scheme, the NCCD would form Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and would impart training, proper guidance to the small and marginal farmers of the State to face various challenges in production, technical know how, quality of production, optimum price realisation, credit, seed production, processing, utilisation and marketing.
The FPOs would be managed as per the cooperative Act.
Meanwhile, ED attached assets worth about Rs 32 crore in Sangoli Rayanna cooperative society fraud case in Karnataka. This has been done under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
