Karnataka minister said state govt will allow the stone and miners’ cooperative society to carry out mining operations so it could cease to be ailing, reports IANS.
The minister said the reapproved project would generate thousands of jobs in the Tumkuru district. The society had sought licence way back in the mid 90s but it was financially too weak to execute mining operations.
According to the minister, the govt. has given the mining contract without auction to the society under the provisions of the Karnataka Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1994, Rule 56.
