Speaking in a function held by Kalaburagi and Yadagiri District Cooperative Central Banks on Wednesday, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai urged cooperative bodies to focus on ensuring the welfare of farmers rather than becoming rich capitalists, reports a news outlet.
Speaking further the chief minister said his government would make all possible efforts for the development of the cooperative sector.
Lauding the cooperative movement in Gujarat and Maharashtra Bommai said Karnataka should also excel in the cooperative sector.
The Karnataka chief also praised prime minister Modi’s decision to create a separate ministry for cooperation.
