Sharing official data in the Rajya Sabha, the minister of state for finance Bhagwat Karad said cooperative banks in 2021-22 distributed 95 percent of loans targeted in the agricultural sector.
The minister was answering a question raised by members of parliament KC Venugopal and Sanjeev Arora.
The FY22 had agri loans worth Rs 2,17,849 crore disbursed through cooperative banks between April 2021 and March 2022.
It is worth mentioning that it was only 84 percent of the target in the previous two financial years.
