Madras High Court has taken a serious note of allegations against officials of the Kancheepuram Central Cooperative Bank of having swindled ?30 crore and destroying evidence, reports Hindu.
Finding the probe carried out by the police unsatisfactory, the court would review the entire investigation. Earlier a whistle-blower sought CBI probe into the allegations.
The court found the case ” really an eye opener as to how public funds of banks are misappropriated by the employees in collusion with authorities.”
NABARD had also supported the whistle blower account. “We are therefore of the view that all is not well,” the court said.
