Scoop News reports J&K -Minister of Cooperatives during his sitting at BJP office at Kachi Chawni, listened to the grievances of the people mostly concerned with the Cooperative Societies and the Cooperative department. Most of complaints related to non-functioning of cooperative societies and entities.

Most of the people raised the issue of non-serious attitude towards care & maintenance of properties of various cooperative societies like Super Bazar, Federations etc. A deputation from Tawi Inderwal Marketing Society, expressed their grave concern over the poor state of the super bazaars and other concerned cooperative organizations in their area.

The minister said the previous governments had neglected the Cooperative Societies which, once were pride of the cooperative movement in the state and had allowed them to become defunct. He said the cooperative movement was originally meant to eliminate the middle man between producers like agriculturists and the consumers.

The minister said all necessary steps would soon be taken to stem the rot in the cooperative sector in the state.
