One of India’s leading multi-state scheduled urban cooperative banks (UCBs)— Janata Sahakari Bank Ltd., Pune has contributed Rs 5 crore towards the share capital of the National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC).
The contribution was made during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the bank at a grand event held in Pune.
The cheque was presented in the presence of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister of State for Cooperation Muralidhar Mohol, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Eknath Shinde, Chandrakant Dada Patil, and other dignitaries.
The cheque was officially handed over to NUCFDC CEO Prabhat Chaturvedi, further strengthening the capital base of NUCFDC.
Notably, Janata Sahakari Bank had previously contributed Rs 1 crore in an earlier round of funding, bringing its total contribution to Rs 6 crore.
With the active participation of leading cooperative banks, NUCFDC continues to grow as a vital institution dedicated to strengthening the cooperative banking sector in India.
