The 20th ‘Janaseva Puraskar’ constituted by the leading UCB Janaseva Sahakari Bank, Pune was bagged by Pramod Kulkarni, CEO, Seva Vardhini on the occasion of 46th Foundation day of the bank organized at Mahatma Phule Sanskrutik Bhavan on Wednesday.
This awards consists of a cheque of Rs 1,01,000 along with a memento and a certificate of appreciation and a trophy. Pramod Chaudhari, Chairman of Praj Industries, who was the chief guest gave this award to Kulkarni.
Talking about the function Chairman of Janaseva Sahakari Bank, Pune said to Indian Cooperative, “From 20 years we are organizing the award ceremony and this year we felicitated Pramod Kulkarni, CEO, Seva Vardhini. Last year it was bagged to “Saksham” (Samdrushti Kshamata Vikas Evam Anusandhan Mandal) – a charitable national organization registered in Nagpur”, he added.
“About 750 people was present in the event and I would also like to convey my message to our shareholders through your portal that as we are celebrating the 46th foundation day I am very thankful to them for believing in us; this way we serve them better”, said the Chairman to this reporter.
Sevavardhini was established as NGO in Mumbai in 1998. It has created a network of 250 plus voluntary organizations, from all over the India, having strong foot-holds at the grassroots through various development related initiatives. These organizations are engaged in a variety of services in the fields of Agriculture, Energy, Water, Education, Health, Cultural, Rehabilitation, etc.
Janaseva Sahakari Bank is also preparing to inaugurate its new spacious Head office Building in the current financial year. The bank is having a network of 30 branches, 24 on-site ATMs. The bank has about 40 thousand shareholders and it disbursed 12 percent dividends to its members this fiscal.
The bank was established on 24th October, 1972 under the leadership of late Mama Sahib Hazare with the initial paid up capital of Rs 56 thousand. The bank has registered a profit of Rs. 15.36 crore this financial year.
