Co-operators across the country were stunned by the news of the passing away of Jagdish Mehta, a veteran co-operator connected to urban cooperative banking sector. Mehta died Monday morning due to a long illness.
Expressing shock, Nafcub President Jyotindra Mehta wrote, “Great loss to co-operative Banking sector. A dedicated Co-operator, and a lovely personality. We worked together in GUJFED and NAFCUB.”
In his condolence message, RBI Central Board Director Satish Marathe wrote, “May his Soul attain Sadgati”.
Remembering Jagdish Mehta, Kangra Cooperative Bank Chairman Laxmi Das wrote, “It is shocking news for me . We worked together. Though he had health issues. But these issues would affect his body to this extent! It is unbelievable. May his soul rest in peace”.
Haryana State Urban Co-op Banks Federation Chairman O P Sharma wrote, “Very sad. May God grant peace to the departed soul and strength to bear irreparable loss to the family members and relatives”.
Jagdish Mehta was associated with the cooperative banking sector for a long time. He was the Chairman of leading bank of Gujarat-Surat People’s Cooperative Bank and Vice-Chairman of Gujarat Urban Cooperative Banks Federation.
Indian Cooperative also pays homage to the departed soul.
