IT officials carried out a surprise inspection at the Bhatkal Urban Co-operative bank Bhatkal (HQ branch) in Karnataka as part of the ongoing drive post-demonetization, say media reports.
Some customers whose accounts were credited with more than 49 thousand rupees post-demonetisation were summoned and their statements recorded.
The Bhatkal Urban co-operative bank has a total of ten branches spread across Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.
Sources close to the bank said, the bank strictly abides by the guideline laid down by the RBI.
