Due to internal dissension in BJP in Surat district, the party has lost election in Mahua sugar cooperative factory and it is most likely the party will lose the top post in the Gujarat Sahakari Khand Udyog Sangh too, reports Times of India.
Two factions operating against each other in BJP’s Surat unit had worked hard to get their rivals defeated in the polls. The two warring groups are led by BJP legislators.
The MLAs Patel and Dodiya have been at loggerheads for the last one decade over their attempts to gain control of the sugar and milk cooperatives in Surat district.
A BJP insider says the internal fight in the party has been going on for several years, the party should immediately enforce discipline otherwise the party’s poll prospects in sugar cooperatives will be bleak.
