India set to produce 1/3 of global milk output: Amul MD

Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of GCMMF announced that AMUL’s recent milk launch in the US has been highly successful, with plans now to expand into the European market, media reports say.

Speaking at the 11th Dr Verghese Kurien Memorial Oration, Mehta highlighted India’s position as the world’s largest milk producer, set to produce one-third of global milk output.

He emphasized the transformative power of dairy for rural India, attributing it to Dr Kurien’s cooperative model.

AMUL collects 31 million litres of milk daily, operates 107 plants, and sells 22 billion packs annually.
