The Income Tax Department recently started the hand-holding process to educate the bank officials about how to increase the number of tax payers in the country, informs a press release.
The Directorate organized the Outreach Program for the Officials of the Industrial Cooperative Bank Ltd. [ICBL] at the premises of the bank in Guwahati.
Subhra Jyoti Bharali, Managing Director of the ICBL, briefed about the program being organized by the DIT (I&CI) for the first time in the north east of India.
C Deepak Singh, IRS, who the Additional Director (Intelligence &Criminal Investigation), NER, Guwahati, explained to the cooperative bank officials the importance of cooperative banks for collection of the information at source itself. K.T Rainam, IRS, Deputy Director presented the procedures of updation of data through an Audio Visual presentation.
Later, T Y Bhutia, IRS, Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax conducted the Question & Answer Session to clarify the doubts & issues raised by the Directors & Officials of the bank. The program concluded with a vote of thanks.
