For raising public awareness of the importance of trees and Neem, the fertilizer cooperative IFFCO organized a tree plantation programme at Dhari in Amreli district in Gujarat on Sunday. More than 600 farmers and cooperators participated in this programme.
Those present on the occasion included Dileep Sanghani, IFFCO Director, Narayan Kachadia, MP, Asvin Savalia , President Amreli Dairy, Yogendra Kumar, Marketing Director IFFCO, among others.
On this occasion cooperators planted different types of tress under the IFFCO trees plantation campaign. According
IFFCO’s arm Indian Farm Forestry Development Cooperative (IFFDC) has already been active encouraging tree plantation to improve the living conditions of rural poor through sustainable Natural Resource Management by collective action.
According to an estimate, IFFCO has planted about 20 lakh neem trees so far. In the first year of the campaign alone, more than 10.4 lakh neem trees were planted.
